Is there any aristolochic acid in SlimTone Formula or in any BioSlim product? |
|
No. All BioSlim products are tested to guarantee a zero level of aristolochic acid before manufacturing ever takes place. What is aristolochic acid? In 2000, the FDA announced that there was some evidence that aristolochic acid, a constituent of the herb Aristolochia, might have had a deleterious effect in some cases where large doses had been taken. Though the evidence for any negative effects of this substance was uncertain and preliminary (millions have taken this herb in China for centuries), and though Aristolochia has never been a part of any BioSlim product formula, we at BioSlim immediately jumped into action, because sometimes another herb, Stephania, can inadvertently have some Aristolochia in it. Working closely with the FDA, we tested all our products, and found a very tiny level of aristolochic acid in half of our then-existing (pre-Ultra) SlimTone bottles. The level was so small that it was not measurable, and therefore clearly not in any way harmful. Despite the very tiny levels found, Dr. Leichtberg decided to err on the side of extreme caution and ordered all SlimTone bottles then in existence destroyed. New bottles were then manufactured without Stephania (though Stephania itself has no aristolochic acid in it, he wanted no chance at all of any error) and batches since then have been tested for zero-level aristolochic acid prior to manufacturing. Of all the products on the market today, BioSlim is one of the few that can reliably and positively say that no aristolochic acid exists in any of its products. Science update: Since 2000, multiple studies have been published, using both animal and human models, indicating the connection between aristolochic acid ingestion and kidney damage in humans. Additional studies are ongoing. Meanwhile, BioSlim remains, as always, completely free of all aristolochic acid. |
